Kana Mash

Kana Mash is a game geared towards studying Japanese characters in a different way(mainly JLPT words for now).  A word will appear at the top of screen along with a tiles that signify how many Kana make up that word. Click the words below to get the Kana that make it up and  use them to guess the word.

There are currently 5 levels to choose from starting with the easiest being JLPT N5 and the hardest being JLPT N1. Your hi-score from each round will be saved and displayed on the select screen of each round.

Once the round is complete you can review how well you did by checking your word familiarity with each word you interacted with(you may have to scroll down if you interacted with a lot of words). Word familiarity is gained by destroying words that can Kana needed in the question(the more the better), by guessing correctly and Kana from the question, but the most if given from completing words. Familiarity can also be lost by guessing incorrectly, or destroying words that don't contain kana you need so be careful!

After you've racked up some familiarity head over to the review page to see which words you excel at and which you still need to work on! Review page can be gotten to from either Start menu or the Select screen by clicking the "Review" button.

Controls(all mouse):

• Click Guess tiles to destroy them and get their constituent Kana
• Click Kana tiles to pick them up and drag them to the question tile to attempt a guess, 
  • Bad guesses will be destroyed and you will lose some familiarity
  • Good guesses will then display the Kana and you will gain familiarity
• Rounds are 5 words
• Additional time will be given for each correct Kana answered
• Points given for each correct Kana and Bonus points for completing a word
